Great creative =
American anvils + Canadian pearls
ideas and thoughts to develop written content to help your anvil & Hammer creative work soar.
a creative cross-border collaboration
Building strong brands and helping businesses grow is what drives The Anvil & Hammer Agency. By molding strong ideas into powerful designs, they craft branding and marketing solutions that look good and get the job done.
The team from Anvil & Hammer know that great branding needs great content which is why they have partnered with the clever folks at PearlStreet.ca. They have graciously invited us to contribute our writing and strategic communication skills with clients like you! Building on their great design work, Team Pearl Street is ready to write content for your website, social or print materials.
Between our two teams, we have a lot of experience (some of it even successful!). We also cover a lot of geography. While Anvil & Hammer is based in the southern and warm climate of Denton Texas, team Pearl Street is in the beautiful village of Elora in Ontario, about 90 minutes west of Toronto. And while our teams may never settle our Rangers/Blue Jays 'discussion’, we can agree that our cross-border collaboration delivers great creative work on time and on budget.
Regardless of your needs, Team Pearl Street is here to help your Anvil & Hammer project not only look great but also connect with your clients through language and stories that resonate with them. Click here to connect with Jimmy from Anvil & Hammer to learn more.

What it looks like:
1: Based on your initial conversations with the Anvil & Hammer team our two agencies will take time to compare notes on the project, understand timelines and budget and ensure we have our internal logistics in place so we can get to work ASAP. Jimmy from Anvil & Hammer will confirm pricing and project timelines with you.
What it looks like:
Pearl Street will facilitate a fun and focused 60 min virtual conversation with your team about what it is you want to accomplish through this work. We will ask who you want to connect with and what else we need to know about them. We will have a few questions to start the meeting and we will guide the conversation to make sure you have lots of time and ideas to share the thoughts you want us to hear. Between our whiteboard and computer, we will take copious notes to capture your brilliance!
Or, if Zoom isn’t really your thing, we’re also happy to share a customized questionnaire designed to get to the bottom of what you need and how we can help. After you submit it, we follow up with any relevant questions we may have. Then we get to work! While you’ll miss out on seeing our handsome faces, this can be a good option if you have tight turnaround needs. Don’t worry, we won’t be offended you don’t want to see us. Much.
What it looks like:
Based on our conversations in Step 1 and 2, Pearl Street will begin writing content for your work. Working with the Anvil & Hammer team, we will go through a few versions to get it ready for your input. We will then share with you a Word doc for you to review and comment on. We will ask you to share your feedback as tracked changes.
An important note about editing. If more than one person on your team will be editing the doc, we ask you to ensure all the changes are from a SINGLE user. Additional charges will apply if multiple users are tracking changes in a single doc or we receive multiple versions of the same doc.
What it looks like:
We will send you a final version of the doc based on your input and another edit from our end. With approval of this work, Anvil & Hammer can work their creative magic. Our fees for this project include 1 round of revisions. Additional editing time is available for an additional fee.

Similar change making Work we have done
When thinking about how best we could support Anvil & Hammer clients, we were reminded of these past projects and how they are similar in process and deliverables.
Regional Internal Auditors: Building A New Brand and Story
The mission of the Regional Internal Audit Team (RIAT) (funded by the Ministry of Education) is to provide independent and objective assurance and consulting services, designed to add value and improve school boards’ operations across the Province. Their team assists school boards by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
Needing a brand for their team, the RIAT leadership asked Pearl Street to help build both a brand and an organizational story. After consultation with leadership and face-to-face meetings with RIAT team members, Pearl Street developed a logo and brand story for the RIAT team to use. We also built a suite of internal marketing materials that they are using with clients and their funder.
South West Transformation Project: Branding A New Collective
Pearl Street walked alongside a collective of Ontario community legal clinics as they examined how they deliver services and collaborate with community partners. Brought in at the start of the project, we have helped this enthusiastic team develop messaging, a logo and a website to start telling their complex story to their staff, governing boards and funder. After building a 12-month Communication Plan, Pearl Street lead the execution of the plan with tools for online, on paper and in-person engagement for both internal and external audiences.
Wellington Catholic DSB: Engaging Youth & Families
Pearl Street has been a proud partner of the Wellington Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) for many years and have supported the board through a number of tactical and strategic processes all with a common goal: helping the board articulate and share its story to improve retention and recruitment rates. In 2018, Pearl Street finished a four-month strategic planning process with WCDSB. Click here to see a copy of the plan we build with them. During this process, we engaged hundreds of stakeholders including staff, parents, parish members, the general community and of course students. Our engagement included small and large group meetings, phone calls, one-on-one meetings and online surveys designed to reach unique audiences. While they have since updated this plan, many of the core tenants we developed for them are still baked into their current documents.
Our Vision A world that demands and is strengthened by meaningful marketing and communications.
Our Mission We passionately tell the stories of engaged organizations through kick-ass marketing and communications.
We Value Boldness | Passion | Clarity
oUR THINKING & PROCESS
Questions we ask all of our clients that influenced our thinking for these ideas:

How can this work support building better economic, social and environmental equity?
How can this work help rebuild a new and better normal after COVID?
Books we are reading and are influencing our thinking to change-making communications and engagement:
Dare to Lead | Brene Brown
Change How to make big things happen | Damon Centola
A Promised Land | Barack Obama
